We have protested before without much success so this protest took a different approach. We held a sidewalk town hall and the subject will be “How can 350 Kingston help Ted Hsu and Mark Gerretsen be more effective in pressing for real climate action?”
Ted talked about the current Ontario regulations that require utilities to provide a natural gas hookup in serviced areas to any customer that asks for it. He is proposing a private members bill that would add “Non-Residential” in front of customer so that cities could require fossil fuel free heating for new homes, apartment buildings and condos.
