This event was for anyone, settlers and allies to stand in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs at their Gidimt’en Checkpoint protesting drilling under the Wedzin Kwa River by pressuring RBC to stop funding the Coastal GasLink pipeline in B.C.
RBC is the biggest private financial investor of fossil fuel in Canada and the 5th largest bank supporter of fossil fuel projects globally. New fossil fuel projects are insane in the middle of a severe Climate Crisis! In June 2021, over 600 people died from a heat dome in British Columbia, caused by humans burning fossil fuels.
